Give the Gift of iTunes Classical Albums

Well, the holiday season is upon us and people everywhere are getting into the gift-giving spirit.  But what about those technology-lovers in your life (or you yourself, given that you’re reading a blog…), who listen to music on their phones, iPods, iPads, and tiny stereo systems implanted into their brains?  Fear not – we’re pleased to provide a guide to gifting albums on iTunes, so you can give them the latest and greatest in classical music without making them deal with shrink-wrap and shiny discs…

Step 1:

Open iTunes and find the release you want to give to someone (don’t have iTunes? click here!)

Step 2:

Next to the “Buy Album” button, click on the little down arrow and then, from the drop-down menu, select “Gift This Album”  See photo below

Step 3:

Fill in the boxes with your name (or whoever you’d like the gift to come from), the recipient’s name and email, and a personal message to them.  At the top, select if you’d like the recipient to get the gift as an email (redeemed by following a link and downloading the music) or as a printed voucher you can give them and they can redeem themselves on the iTunes store. Hit ‘Continue’

Step 4:

Verify the info is correct and hit “Buy Gift.”  The recipient will either receive the album via email or you’ll have a page you can print and give to them that they can redeem.

Step 5:

Let out a hearty ‘Ho, Ho, Ho!” and get back to eating chocolate chip cookies and milk by the chimney…
